George Joyce, 40, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Monday, Dec. 9, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a news release. He previously pleaded guilty to charges of possessing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to court documents and statements, police executed a search warrant at Joyce's home on Wednesday, Mar. 29, 2023. The raid uncovered 2,587 methamphetamine pills and two loaded guns in his bedroom.

Joyce admitted that he intended to distribute the drugs. He also acknowledged that his prior felony conviction made it illegal for him to possess the guns.

In addition to the 10-year prison sentence, Joyce was ordered to serve four years of supervised release.

FBI agents in Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware, helped with the investigation, along with the Delaware State Police and the New Castle County Police Department.
